Stewart stated, Justin knows he needs to get the precious cargo, Phoebe, out of the way. All three began filming their first scenes during the following week, ahead of their on-screen debut in 2016. Stewart was contacted by his agent and Julie McGauran, the head of drama at Seven Network, about a role in the show.
Character History:
Justin attempts to tell Phoebe how he feels and he makes a speech "from the heart", which causes her to change her mind and accept his proposal. Upon their introduction, an Inside Soap columnist stated that the Morgans appeared to live a normal life, but they had "a dangerous past" and no one was allowed to know who they really were. The family initially keep to themselves, and Justin warns Tori against befriending local doctor Nate Cooper . He is worried when she admits to telling Nate that their parents are dead, as he does not want Nate looking into it.

But Mason fails to wake up and a neurosurgeon informs Tori that they will need to wait until the spinal shock has worn off. Raffy and Ryder meet at the Surf Club where they play pool together. They become close and start flirting causing Coco, who has feelings for Ryder, to get jealous. After finding out about Coco's crush, Raffy tells Ryder that they'll never be an item, so Coco could pursue him. Ryder loses interest in Raffy and starts a relationship with Coco. After Ryder's breakup with Coco, Raffy starts to have feelings for him again.
Characterisation and introduction
She also accepts a job as a waitress at his brother's restaurant. In May 2017, producers introduced guest character Scarlett Snow into Brody's drug addiction storyline. After Scarlett is carjacked by Brody, she attempts to help him, along with the Morgans. When Scarlett becomes suspicious that Brody is still using, she searches his car and finds his stash of drugs. She and Justin confront Brody, who launches himself at Scarlett and Justin has to hold him back. Her estranged husband Caleb Snow sends a private investigator to find her, prompting Justin to get her out of the Bay for a while.

A new love interest for Mason was introduced in the form of guest character Beth Ellis in August 2017. Beth tells Mason that she is a nurse and they soon bond while he is a patient in the hospital. Beth's friendship helps Mason's recovery from injuries he sustained in a car crash. While looking for Beth, Mason soon learns that she is actually a patient. Mason is "furious" that Beth has lied to him, but she soon reveals that she is dying.
Relationships
After coming to a stop, Justin immediately gets out of the car to confront Ash, and Brody and Mason desperately try to keep them from getting into a physical fight. The Morgans continue their journey to the Bay, where they find Ash talking with Tori and Alf Stewart on the beach and another fight almost breaks out, until Tori reveals that Justin, Brody and Mason are her brothers. Ash accepts that he was in the wrong, while Justin is glad his family have made it to the Bay safely. The siblings also wonder if they will be able to stay in their new home, leading to the start of their first major storyline.
Brody and Mason stop Justin and Ash from getting into a physical fight, and the brothers continue their journey to the Bay, where they later come across Tori talking with Ash and Alf Stewart on the beach. Before another fight between Justin and Ash breaks out, Tori defuses the situation by revealing that Justin, Brody and Mason are her brothers. Mason finds Beth's bucket list and sees that she has fun and "romantically charged" things on it, which Mason wants to help her complete. Mason comes up with the idea of a James Bond style trip to the casino. Mason is "petrified" and worried about the harm to Beth's health. He is also left feeling helpless as he cannot do anything about her condition.
They teamed together to get Ryder and Coco back together which became a success. Justin takes his role as the head of the family "very seriously". Along with Tori, he helped raise their younger brothers Brody and Mason. As a result he is "fiercely protective of them." Stewart explained that Justin makes all the decisions on behalf of the family, but he often discusses them with Tori. Justin does not want to get too settled in the Bay, and he worries what the town's residents will think of his family.
Weeks later, Dempsey returns to Salt and Mason apologises to her for getting distracted. He invites her to be his guest at Brody and Ziggy's wedding, where he is acting as best man. After the wedding, Mason spends the night at Dempsey's place. Weeks later, Dempsey returns to the Bay to tell Mason that she is pregnant. Mason says that he will support her and the baby, but Dempsey feels pressured by his declaration.
They agree that they are tired of running from the drugs syndicate who killed their parents. While Brody, Justin and Tori are arguing, Mason leaves the house to meet Lara, who has been working for Spike and Blaine Varden , the man who killed the siblings' parents. Spike and Blaine trick Mason into telling them the location of the safe house and they hold the family hostage at gunpoint. As Blaine threatens to kill them, he reveals that Justin played a part in their parents' deaths. The following week, they have dinner together and Mason confronts Evie about her drinking and partying.
However, Mason later meets Beth and her father Alan Ellis at the beach, so he introduces himself. Alan is unaware that his daughter is dating anyone, but he invites Mason to lunch with Beth and her mother Jackie , where Mason tries to make a good impression. Both Apps and Pledger hoped Beth and Mason's storyline would raise more awareness about organ donation in Australia. Pledger also thought the plot could increase the number of people willing to be organ donors. Both actors found the storyline tough to film, with Pledger calling it "a harrowing experience". Mason wants to make the most of the time they have left and organises a lunch on the beach.
